CONVERSATION STARTERS
1.Read or listen to Matthew 11:16–30. Notice that Jesus does not command the weary to perform; he invites them to come. What stands out to you in the way Jesus frames his invitation? Is there anything else that stands out to you from the passage?

2. Matthew 11 assumes that everyone is already carrying a yoke—desires, expectations, approval, performance, self‑rule. What is the yoke you most notice in your daily life, and how does it shape the way you move through your week?

3. Jesus describes rest not as escape but as learning from him—taking his yoke and being formed by his way. How does this passage challenge or deepen your understanding of rest as part of discipleship rather than something separate from it?

4. Taking Jesus’ yoke means letting him steer and set the pace of our lives. Is there an area of life you are scared to let go of the reins and let Jesus guide you?

Calling is the truth that God calls us to himself so decisively that everything we are, everything we do, and everything we have is invested with a special devotion, dynamism and direction lived out in response to his summons and service. - Os Guiness, The Call

2. There Are Many Excuses
3. There Is A Formidable Adversary
Grace is costly because it compels a person to submit to the yoke of Christ and follow him; it is grace because Jesus says, ‘My yoke is easy and my burden is light. - Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost Of Discipleship
