fellowship - (koinōnia)partnership, that is, (literally)participation, or (social)intercourse, community.

Main Theme: We grow stronger in the Word, deeper in relationships, and greater in impact when we do life together.

Introduction: From a Campaign to a Community.
Today, we celebrate what God has done through our 40 Days in the Word campaign. For forty days, we have been reading the Word, studying the Word, applying the Word, and allowing the Word to transform our lives. But we must remember: The conclusion of the campaign is not the conclusion of our commitment. We did not spend forty days in the Word so we could return to the way things were. We spent forty days in the Word so we could establish a new way of living. The question now is: How do we keep growing? One of God’s answers is community. That is why our upcoming Connect Group semester is so important. At Linked UP Church, Connect Groups are not merely another program on the calendar. They are places where relationships are formed, faith is strengthened, needs are met, and lives are changed. The Christian life is better when we live it together.

a. They continued in the Word.

b. They continued in fellowship.

c. They continued in breaking of bread. (Communion and sharing meals together)

d. They continued in prayer.

Notice that doctrine and fellowship were connected. They received the Word, but they also shared life. There is a kind of growth that happens when you read the Bible by yourself. But there is another kind of growth that happens when you sit with other believers and discuss how to live out what you have read.

This does not mean they agreed on every preference or had identical personalities. It means they shared a common faith, a common mission, and a genuine concern for one another. When needs arose, they responded. When someone was hurting, others cared. When someone experienced a victory, others celebrated. That is what Connect Groups are designed to provide. Sunday worship is powerful, but it is possible to sit in a large congregation while carrying a private burden. People may see your smile without knowing your struggle. In a Connect Group, you become known. People learn your story.They recognize when something is wrong.They notice when you are missing.They pray when you are hurting.They celebrate when you are winning.

Their relationships became a witness to the world. People did not merely hear what Christians believed; they saw how Christians loved one another.

5.Some of Us Need to Join.
For some of you, your next step is to join a Connect Group. You have attended worship services, but now it is time to become more deeply connected. Do not wait until you experience a crisis to begin building relationships. Build relationships now so that when life happens, you already have people aroundyou. Youmay say, “I’m busy.” All of us are busy. But we make time for what we believe is important.

6. Some of Us Need to Lead.
For others, God is calling you to lead a ConnectGroup. Youmay be thinking, “I don’t know enough.” You do not have to know everything to help someone take their next step. You do not need to have all the answers. You need a willing heart, a love for people, and a commitment to follow the guidance and training provided.

Conclusion: Don’t Stop at Forty Days
We have completed 40 Days in the Word, but we have not completed our journey.

We have spent forty days growing in the Word. Now we have an opportunity to continue growing in community. The early church devoted itself to the Word, fellowship, prayer, generosity, and shared life. The result was spiritual power, genuine joy, favor with people, and lives being added to the Kingdom. That same pattern can still produce powerful results today. We grow better together. We become stronger together. We make a greater difference together. A Sunday service can inspire you, but a Connect Group can help sustain you. In rows, we receive the Word. In circles, we process the Word. In rows, we worship together. In circles, we learn one another’s stories. In rows, we may see one another’s faces. In circles, we begin carrying one another’s burdens. The enemy wants to isolate you because he understands the power of connection. But God is calling you into a spiritual family where you can grow, serve, and help others become everything He has called them to be. So as we prepare for the fall semester, I want to give everyone two clear opportunities:

1. Join a Connect Group.
2. Prayerfully consider leading one.

Do not merely attend church; get connected. Do not merely receive; help someone else grow. Do not allow the momentum of these 40 days to fade. Carry it forward through relationships. We were not created to do life alone. We need one another. We are stronger with one another. And by the grace of God, we are truly Better Together.
