1.This is a very familiar passage for many. Read Matthew 1–2 out loud together and try to listen to the story as if it is the first time you were ever hearing it. What parts of the story stood out to you? Why?
2. The sermon highlighted the ache of waiting, silence, and the presence of “false kings.” Where do you feel the tension between the kind of king you want and the kind of king Jesus actually is? Name one situation when his way feels costly, slow, or different than you hoped.
3. Matthew shows God working behind the scenes even when his people couldn’t see it. Looking back, share one way God was quietly faithful in a season that felt dark, confusing, or delayed.
