Stories from the Book of Kings | "Praying Impossible Prayers"

The Northern Kingdom is gone. Now Sennacherib of Assyria is at Jerusalem's gates with an army and a letter mocking God by name. Hezekiah reads the letter, walks into the Temple, and spreads it before the Lord. No plan. No army. Just a king laying what he cannot carry into God's hands. That night, the angel of the Lord moves through the Assyrian camp. By morning, 185,000 soldiers are dead. Sennacherib goes home. Some things are simply too large for our hands. Hezekiah shows us what to do with them. Jesus did the same thing in Gethsemane, placing our entire broken world before His Father. The God who answered Hezekiah still answers.
