Stories from the Book of Kings - "A God who Provides"

1 Kings 17 introduces us to Elijah – one of the most important individuals in the Old Testament. God’s second command to him is surprising: He sends Elijah is to visit a poor, Gentile widow in Zarephath. In the middle of a drought, famine, and covenant unfaithfulness, we see God provide for His prophet through extraordinary means. This week invites us to see God’s provision in unexpected places, through unexpected lives. We encounter a God who provides, even in scarcity. And we’ll explore how Jesus points back to this story, as a way of demonstrating what His work is all about.
