Being human means we learn to see people the way Jesus does.

Matthew 9:9-13 NIV

verse 9 - “he saw a man called Matthew.”

verse 12. “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those
who are sick.”

Grace isn’t pretending nothing is wrong. Grace is seeing what is wrong and still moving toward the person with love,

You have a booth too.

Grace doesn't ignore the booth. Grace calls you out of it.

“Follow me.”

We become disciples because of His call, not because we are clean.

“Leave it behind.”

What has following Jesus actually caused me to leave behind?

Disciples don’t just admire Jesus. Disciples follow Jesus.

The result of truly receiving grace is living a life that extends grace.

Disciples don’t just leave the booth. They start inviting people to the table.

• Discernment grieves sin because it destroys people.
• Contempt points out sin because it enjoys feeling superior.
• Discernment says, “They're sick, and they need a Physician.”
• Contempt says, “They're sick, and I’m glad I’m not like them.”

The sickest people in the most danger are the ones who refuse to see the doctor.

Reducing the pain is not the same thing as receiving healing.

Hosea 6:6 NIV

Any version of grace that removes the call to obedience has also missed Jesus.

I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.

We're just the sick people who found the hospital first.
