1. The law guides us.
2. We serve as a guide to others.
“To bear the name of God is a sacred trust.” (The New American Commentary-Romans, Mounce, 100)
3. Our guidance must be lived.
“For many of us, our preaching is better than our living.” (Romans, McGee, 52)
“Our problem is that we fail to feel the weight of the law. We are so hardened in our sin and so accustomed to our corruption that we give our attention not to the law of God but to the social customs of our culture, and we measure ourselves in conformity to those customs rather than against the standard of God’s perfect righteousness.” (The Righteous Shall live by faith-Romans, Sproul, 50)
