Title: "Satisfied 2" (05-17-26)

The Point:
Cropped: God Does NOT Want Me to Be Happy
Completed: God Wants to Be Our Source of Satisfaction

Object Lesson: "Rainy Days" - When Everything Goes Wrong
Focus Verse. Have someone read John 10:10.
** In our focus verse, it says that Jesus has come that we "may have life, and have it to the full." Share a time when you've experienced life to the full in Christ. **
** Icebreaker - What's your favorite thing to do on a rainy day? **
Sean taught that God doesn't want us to be happy. Instead, He wants us to find our satisfaction in Him. Let's discuss.
First - Satisfaction comes from hungering for God. Have someone read Matthew 5:6.
The Biblical definition of righteousness is living in right relationship with God and others, acting justly, honestly and faithfully.
1. Research shows that people who exercise tend to be hungry for healthier foods. Spiritually speaking, what exercises can we can do make us hungrier for righteousness?
Second - Revelation comes from obeying God. Have someone read Proverbs 3:5-6.
** 2. God promises to reveal His path for us when we are obedient to Him. Share a time when you obeyed God, and He led you down a path that you would not have chosen otherwise. **

3. Where are you at right now? Are you facing a decision about which path to take? How can you find that answer?
Third - Passion comes from delighting in God. Have someone read Psalm 37:4.
4. Delighting in the Lord means that we find peace and fulfillment in Him. He makes us feel full. And when we are full, we don't want or need anything other than Him. Can you say that you feel full from God's presence?

5. Share how you've seen God's presence change your own desires. For instance, is there something that you used to enjoy, but as you got closer to God, you realized it wasn't pleasing to Him and you stopped liking it?
Happiness is in the circumstance; Joy is in the source.

Joy is a deep, abiding gladness and peace that comes from knowing God. It doesn't matter what is going on around us. We know that God is going to show up. Where did God show up for you this week? In other words, share your God moments from this week.
Prayer 4U - Have everyone put their name in a hat, then take turns picking a name to pray for this week. Pray that your person would find their satisfaction in knowing God and drawing closer to Him.
Guided Prayer - (Leader, include the following in your prayer time). Father, fill us with your Spirit and open our eyes to see Your constant presence in our lives. Let us be completely satisfied in You so that we desire only You. Deliver us from our desires to chase the things in this world that don't matter. In Jesus' name, Amen.
