Peter’s Spirit-Empowered Message (Acts 2:14-41)

• vs 17-21 Cites the OT Joel 2:28-32 prophecy as being fulfilled, which affirms the outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit on all believers
• vs 22-24 Blamed them for ignoring the clear signs of Jesus’ divinity, and for crucifying him by the hands of lawless men
• vs 25-28 Reminds them of David’s vision and faith in Jesus’ arrival
• vs 29-33 Jesus is risen, exalted, and seated on the right hand of God

• Speaking ambiguously, hesitating, being indecisive, avoiding conflict, soft-pedaling, sugarcoating, waffling, creative response, people-pleasing, hedging, pulling punches, fence-sitting, etc. WILL NOT set people free!
• “Having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power” (2 Timothy 3:5)
• “My people are destroyed for lack/rejection of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6)
• Vivid clarity and decisiveness are needed in life and death scenarios
