A Journey through the Psalms: Psalm 1 - Cedric Holl
The Psalms is a book of praise written over 900 years by more than seven authors. The largest contribution came from King David, who wrote 75 Psalms. We should study the Psalms because: They teach us to meditate on God. They teach us to praise and show us how to praise God. The teach us to have faith in our troubles and to receive comfort from God. They teach us how to have passion for God’s mission. And they teach us to value and practice corporate worship and private devotion. Psalm 1 begins with a warning about where we should not position ourselves, before encouraging us to delight in and live according to the Word of God. It reminds us that when we walk in obedience to God’s will, we are blessed, rooted in his care, and able to bear good fruit in our lives.

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
John 14:7
If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.
