What’s one thing—big or small—you’ve prayed for in the past that still sticks with you today, whether it was answered the way you hoped or not?
When you think about your current prayer life, what do you tend to pray about most often, and what might that reveal about what matters most to you right now?
In 2 Corinthians 12:8–9, Paul asks for something specific and doesn’t receive it the way he hoped. What do you learn about God and about prayer from God’s response to him?
During the message this past week, we discussed that prayer’s primary purpose is to transform us rather than just change our circumstances. What stands out to you most about this?
What would it look like for you this week to pray not just “God, give me this,” but also “God, help me become this,” and if you were relearning prayer from scratch with that perspective in mind, what would feel different in your daily life and your approach to God?
Closing Prayer
Father, You know everything about us—our needs, our desires, our fears, and even the things we don’t have words for. Thank You that You hear us and care for us deeply. We ask that You would meet us in the places where we are waiting, wondering, or even doubting. Give us faith to trust that You are good, even when we don’t understand. Help us become more like Jesus. Shape our hearts, grow our faith, and form us from the inside out. Teach us to desire what You desire and to trust Your timing and Your ways. Even if this week’s conversation has challenged or even shaken our view of prayer, help us to keep talking with You, listening to You, and walking with You. Amen.
