CONVERSATION STARTERS
1. Read Ruth 1:1–18.
2. Naomi openly says she feels empty and forgotten by God. When have you experienced a season where God felt distant or silent, and what helped you keep going in that time?
3. Ruth enters the story as an outsider — culturally, spiritually, socially. Can you share a time when you felt like an outsider, and how that experience shaped your view of God or community?
4. God invited Boaz and Ruth to be a part of his redemption plan for Naomi. As the hands and feet of God, what opportunities does your community group have be a part of someones redemption story ? Could there be a potential outreach partner of Christ Community you could serve? Is there a hurting family that your CG is connected to whom you could serve?
5. Ruth models bold faith by stepping toward God’s people and God’s purposes even when the future is uncertain. What is one bold, faithful step you sense God inviting you to take this week — relationally, spiritually, or practically?
6. Throughout this past session, what is one step you have taken to grow your faithfulness to God? How can your community continue to encourage one another in these steps of growth as you head into summer.

God does extraordinary things through ordinary faithfulness.
– Ordinary grief can become a blessing.
– An ordinary outcast can become an heir.
– Ordinary work can become flourishing.
– Ordinary love can become redemption.
And [God’s people] would know — with a happiness that would never end — that they were home. They were loved with a Never Stopping, Never Giving Up, Unbreaking, Always and Forever Love. - Sally Lloyd-Jones, The Jesus Storybook Bible
