When it comes to disappointing ourselves, where do you tend to go?
It's all my fault or It's all their fault?
It's all my fault or It's all their fault?
Would you consider negative self talk a sin? Why or Why not?
Have you ever identified with Paul's dilemma with sin? How did you respond?
We choose to conform to the world or transform into Christ's identity. How would you describe loving yourself the way Jesus loves you?
What thought pattern or behavior do you struggle with? What do you think the Spirit's transformative way would look like?
How would you describe resting in God?
How have you experienced God's grace in your disappointments with yourself?
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father, we confess self-blame. Grant us wisdom to see the truth and silence negative self-talk that diminishes Christ's image. Help us identify with Paul's inner conflict and seek Your transformative power, not the world's mold. Help us truly love ourselves as Jesus loves. Holy Spirit, replace our struggles with Your peace and rest. Thank You for the profound grace of Romans 8:1-2: no condemnation in Christ Jesus. May we deeply experience this grace, rest in Your finished work, and let our lives testify to Your transforming love, in Jesus' name, Amen.
