Things get complicated because...

We step outside of what God says about them.
Your best life only happens when you do life God's way...

Problem is we don't.
You were not disqualified by your mistakes;
You were developed by them.
(Romans 1:21-25 NLT) Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn't worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. ... They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, ...
Relationships have been redefined.
Do you think God has the right to tell you what is right & wrong?

Can you accept as Truth things you don't understand?
It is possible to talk about Truth & demonstrate love.

Big Difference between: acceptance & approval.
Only way relationships work is by letting the One who designed them define them.
(Genesis 3:1 NLT) The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the LORD God had made. One day he asked the woman, Lie #1 "Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?"

(Genesis 3:2 NLT) "Of course we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden," the woman replied.

(Genesis 3:3 NLT) "It's only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, 'You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die.'"

(Genesis 3:4 NLT) Lie #2 "You won't die!" the serpent replied to the woman.

(Genesis 3:5 NLT) Lie #3 "God knows that Lie #4 your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil."

(Genesis 3:6 NLT) The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too.

(Genesis 3:7 NLT) At that moment their eyes were opened, and they Lie #5 suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.

Lie #1 --> Did God really say that?

Lie #2 --> Sin is not that big of deal!

Lie #3 --> God wants to keep you in the dark.

Lie #4 --> You should be lead by what you feel.

Lie #5 --> It is to late for me, there is no way out.
(Genesis 3:9 NIV) But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"
