What’s a song (any genre) that really captures disappointment or heartbreak for you—and what makes it relatable?
During the message this week, we acknowledged a hard truth: people disappoint each other—and we’ve all been on both sides of that. Why do you think disappointment with people is so common, even among those who care about each other?
Which of these responses—humility, patience, honesty, or love—do you find most challenging when someone lets you down, and why?
This week Pastor Jonathan emphasized that our focus isn’t avoiding disappointment, but choosing our response. What responses come most naturally to you when someone disappoints you—pulling away, getting defensive, shutting down, confronting, or something else?
What does “as far as it depends on you” look like in real relationships where reconciliation feels difficult or incomplete?
During this weeks message Pastor Jonathan encouraged clear and kind communication rather than canceling or avoiding people. What makes honest conversations so hard in moments of disappointment, and what helps make them healthier?
This week we described forgiveness as both a decision and a process.
How have you experienced forgiveness as a journey rather than a one-time moment, and what has helped you move forward when it’s slow or complicated?
Closing Prayer
God, You know how deeply disappointment with people can hurt. You see the wounds we carry and the relationships that feel strained or broken. Help us respond with the same grace, truth, and patience You show us. Give us wisdom to set healthy boundaries, courage to communicate honestly, and hearts that are willing to forgive as we have been forgiven. Teach us to love others the way Jesus has loved us. Heal what needs healing, and guide us forward.
Amen.
