Make Your Move: Choose this Day

Make Your Move: Choose this Day

In the beginning of Joshua God leads His people across the Jordan River, marking a clear turning point between where they’ve been and where He’s taking them. It’s a moment of faith before clarity, obedience before comfort, and movement before certainty. This series invites us to trust God at the threshold, to take courageous steps when He says “go,” and to remember His faithfulness along the way.

Comfort has a way of making us forget we ever needed Him.
Winning battles does not guarantee lasting faith.
The greatest threat to faith is not opposition. It’s assumption.
Desperation has a way of keeping us close to God. While comfort tests whether we actually want Him, or just what He gives us.
Choose on purpose, because drift is automatic
God had been faithful, long before they ever had to be.
God doesn’t say, “Prove yourself and then I’ll bless you.”

He says, “Look at how I’ve already carried you.”
“Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.”
You don’t drift into faithfulness.
You don’t wake up one day and accidentally be obedient.
You don’t stumble into devotion, you decide it.
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
The question isn’t if your home is being shaped. The question is who is shaping it.
Faith that’s never modeled rarely gets followed.
What lines have you drawn in your home?

Unchosen direction is still direction.
Faith that isn’t chosen will eventually be forgotten.
Will the next generation know Go, or just know about Him?
Will they know His power, or just hear stories about what He used to do?
Choose who you serve when no one is forcing you
Who are you serving right now?
Faith doesn’t stay strong by default.
It stays strong by decision.
Decide what story your life is telling
What story is your life telling right now?

If the next generation only knew God by watching you…what would they learn?

Would they learn that God is central…or convenient?

Would they learn that faith is owned…or optional?

Would they learn that Jesus is worth everything…or just worth Sundays?
Who will you serve?
It’s about deciding that your faith will not just be inherited, it will be owned.
Sometimes faith needs a moment where it stops being silent and starts being intentional.
