“When a good thing becomes the ultimate thing, that ultimate thing becomes a destructive thing.” —Scott Nickel
“Money doesn't have morals of its own. It takes on the characteristics of the person who is holding it.” —Rachel Cruz
1. LOOSEN YOUR GRIP (on money and possessions).
-Holding too tightly to anything other than Jesus will cost you freedom and joy.
-“He was disheartened.” “He was stunned at this demand.” “He became gloomy.” “He went away sad.” Grieved
-Kneeling is for a moment. Following is for a lifetime.
-Tithing is an act of obedience and a demonstration of your trust.
-When money becomes our confidence, it becomes a rival king.
2. INVITE GOD to do the impossible.
“... we need a gracious, miraculous intervention from God … Salvation is impossible without God, without a miracle. Without grace.” —Tim Keller
What would make you walk away sad if Jesus asked you to let it go?
NEXT STEPS:
1. Name your one thing.
2. Practice one act of surrender.
3. Reorder one priority in your schedule.
