What’s something in your life that’s been really hard but also really worth it (a relationship, a resolution or habit change, a skill, a commitment)? What made it difficult and what made it worth pushing through?
From this week's message you may have remembered hearing “Important things are often the hardest things.” Where do you see that playing out most clearly in your faith right now?
Why do you think we naturally want the benefits of following Jesus without the cost?
In this week's message we talked about how easy it is to leverage God for our kingdom instead of leveraging our lives for His. In what ways do you see the “Kingdom of Me” showing up in everyday decisions (time, money, comfort, safety, convenience)? What makes this kingdom so appealing?
The rich young man wanted to add Jesus' Kingdom to his spiritual resume of accomplishments but walked away sad when Jesus exposed what truly ruled his heart. If Jesus were to lovingly expose the “true center” of your life, what might He point to?
What do you think keeps people more in the role of fans rather than followers of King Jesus?
Where do you sense Jesus inviting you from comfort into surrender?
Closing Prayer:
Jesus, we acknowledge that You are King—not just of the world, but of every part of our lives. Show us where comfort, convenience, or fear has quietly taken the throne. Give us eyes to see what’s keeping us from fully living For the King. Give us courage to make hard changes, strength to surrender what’s costly, and trust to believe that Your Kingdom is worth everything. Shape our lives so they reflect Your rule, Your love, and Your sacrifice. Give us the desire and courage to actually follow You—not just admire You. Amen.
