Make Your Move: Position & Purpose
In the beginning of Joshua God leads His people across the Jordan River, marking a clear turning point between where they’ve been and where He’s taking them. It’s a moment of faith before clarity, obedience before comfort, and movement before certainty. This series invites us to trust God at the threshold, to take courageous steps when He says “go,” and to remember His faithfulness along the way.

Experiences can stir you, but obedience is what shapes you.
The distance served three purposes:
1. Visibility
The distance allowed everyone to see where God was guiding. Without it, only a few leaders would have clarity.
2. Order
This wasn’t chaos or a mob rushing God’s presence. It was a whole community moving together.
3. Reverence
God is set apart and holy. The ark was not treated as common. God remained holy, leading, and authoritative.

Shift your perspective.
Divine awe is the quiet recognition that God is holy and you are not in charge.
The moment we lose an Awe for God, we start treating Him like
an add on instead of the foundation.
an add on instead of the foundation.
• God goes first.
• God sets direction.
• God carries the weight.

1. Bow a knee - Get on your knees daily, even briefly, to remind your body who leads.
2. Stand while reading Scripture - Treat the Word with weight, not casual posture.
3. Sit in stillness for two minutes - No phone, no agenda, just presence.
4. Fast one meal a week - Let hunger remind you where your dependence truly lies.
5. Walk slowly on purpose - Especially when you feel rushed, letting urgency give way to trust.

Following God’s presence has always requires realignment, not just refinement.
God’s presence moved first. The people followed.
When was the last time you took a step of faith that actually cost you something?
