Sermon Text: Luke 2:8-12 & Isaiah 9:1-7
Preparation Question: What area of your life feels overshadowed by darkness, and how might God be inviting you to make room for the joy only Christ can bring?

1. The world was lost in darkness.

2. Joy mercifully broke in… Not when we were deserving but when we were desperate.

3. The Light of the world brought Joy to the world.

1. Why do you think God chose humble, overlooked shepherds to receive the first announcement of Christ’s birth? What does that mean for you?
2. What does it mean that, through Jesus, we can have joy in the midst of sorrows?
3. How have you substituted temporary happiness for the deeper joy that comes from Christ alone?
4. What step can you take this week to intentionally welcome the joy of Christ into a place of discouragement or weariness?
