Men's Event

The world has its own measuring stick for success, salary, status, possessions, and power. But what does God say about what makes a man? In a culture that tells us to aim low, stay comfortable, and avoid responsibility, we need to recalibrate our definition of true manhood and success from God's perspective.

Join us for our next GRIT Gathering as we dive into what it really means to be a man of God. We'll challenge cultural definitions of success and discover how to align our priorities, goals, and daily lives with Kingdom values. This isn't about adding more to your plate, it's about making sure you're measuring what actually matters.

šŸ—“ Date: October 25, 2025
šŸ•– Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
šŸ“ Location: BCF Worship Center, 2414 Central Blvd.

Bring your appetite and your questions. We'll share a meal, dig into God's Word, and walk away with practical steps to live as men who are measured not by the world's standards, but by God's calling on our lives. Don't just show up to life, show up with purpose. Let's grow in faith together and discover what it truly means to be men of GRIT.
Boundaries: Setting Limits For A Healthy Life
Part 3
October 12, 2025
A boundary defines where I end and you begin.
ā€œBear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.ā€

Galatians 6:2, English Standard Version
ā€œFor each will have to bear his own load.ā€

Galatians 6:5, ESV
ā€œThe Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it.ā€

Genesis 2:15, New Living Translation
ā€œThen the Lord God said, ā€œIt is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.ā€

Genesis 2:18, NLT
ā€œBut the Lord God warned him, ā€˜You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden—except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.ā€™ā€

Genesis 2:16–17, NLT
ā€œHave you eaten from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat?ā€

The man replied, ā€œIt was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit, and I ate it.ā€

Genesis 3:11–12, NLT
TRUTH: Regardless of what others do, we are still responsible for our own choices.
ā€œSince you listened to your wife and ate from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat, the ground is cursed because of you. All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it.ā€

Genesis 3:17, NLT
Problems with boundaries at work.
1. Difficult Co-workers

- The one who tries to get you to do their job for them.
- The one who is always negative.
TRUTH: You can’t change another person. You only have the power to change yourself.
ā€œFor God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.ā€

Philippians 2:13, NLT
Serenity prayer:
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
2. Conflicts with Authority

- Transference of feelings.

3. Taking Work-Related Stress Home.
The next day, Moses took his seat to hear the people’s disputes against each other. They waited before him from morning till evening. When Moses’ father-in-law saw all that Moses was doing for the people, he asked,
ā€œWhat are you really accomplishing here? Why are you trying to do all this alone while everyone stands around you from morning till evening?ā€

Exodus 18:13-14, NLT
Moses replied, ā€œBecause the people come to me to get a ruling from God. When a dispute arises, they come to me, and I am the one who settles the case between the quarreling parties. I inform the people of God’s decrees and give them his instructions.ā€
ā€œThis is not good!ā€ Moses’ father-in-law exclaimed. ā€œYou’re going to wear yourself out—and the people, too. This job is too heavy a burden for you to handle all by yourself.

Exodus 15-18, NLT
4. Wrong priorities.
• Here are my tasks.

• Here are my hours.

• I don’t have enough hours in the workday to complete all my tasks.

• Which tasks are the highest priority?
Now listen to me, and let me give you a word of advice, and may God be with you. You should continue to be the people’s representative before God, bringing their disputes to him. Teach them God’s decrees, and give them his instructions. Show them how to conduct their lives.

Exodus 19-20, NLT
But select from all the people some capable, honest men who fear God and hate bribes. Appoint them as leaders over groups of one thousand, one hundred, fifty, and ten. They should always be available to solve the people’s common disputes, but have them bring the major cases to you. Let the leaders decide the smaller matters themselves. They will help you carry the load, making the task easier for you.

Exodus 21-22, NLT
If you follow this advice, and if God commands you to do so, then you will be able to endure the pressures, and all these people will go home in peace.ā€

Exodus 23, NLT
5. Disliking Your Job
ā€œTake delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.ā€

Psalm 37:4–5, NLT
TRUTH: Your job is not your identity.
Your identity is in Christ.
ā€œWork willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.ā€

Colossians 3:23–24, NLT
