NEW TO REAL LIFE?
Thanks for stopping by our YouVersion! If you're searching for a church home, we're the place for you. We would love for you to plan your visit in-person with us. Whether you've never been to church before, or grew up attending church weekly, plan your experience to join us this weekend!
https://reallifechurchkc.com/planyourvisitSeries Description:
We all have questions we carry deep inside — the ones we whisper in the dark but never say out loud. Questions about God, pain, relationships, and eternity. Questions that make us wonder if we’re the only ones thinking them.
The truth is, you’re not alone. We’re all wrestling with “elephants in the room” — questions everyone’s thinking but no one dares to ask. And while many churches have avoided them, God isn’t afraid of your questions. He welcomes your doubts, your struggles, and your pain.
In this 4-part series, The Elephant in the Room, we’ll tackle some of the hardest, most honest questions people ask about faith:
This isn’t about easy answers or church clichés. It’s about discovering a God who meets us in our brokenness, wrestles with us in our doubts, and leads us to freedom, forgiveness, and hope.
Come with your questions. Come with your hurts. There’s room for you here.

Message Description:
This Labor Day weekend, if you’ve ever wondered if all your hard work really matters, you’re not alone. Solomon wrestled with it. The disciples wrestled with it. And maybe you have too.
Jesus gives us a greater purpose that turns the mundane into meaningful.
Join us this weekend at Real Life as we continue our series “The Elephant in the Room”—where we’re talking about the tough questions most people are afraid to ask. You’ll discover:
- Why your job alone can never satisfy your soul.
- How God uses even the ordinary parts of your life to display His glory.
- The greater purpose you were created for that can change everything.
👉 Don’t miss this powerful and practical message! Come in person and experience what God is doing in the room—or watch online with your family.

What Do I When My Work/Life Feels Meaningless?
Big Truth: Without purpose, labor feels useless & wasted!
THERE IS A PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE!
JESUS GAVE THE BLIND MAN PURPOSE!
WE ARE LIVING PROOF OF THAT JESUS IS GOD!
God’s Work > Our Work
Big Truth: Life’s purpose isn’t found in what we do for a paycheck — it’s found in what we do for God’s kingdom.

Knowing Your Purpose turns the Mundane into Meaning.
TALK IT OVER
Breaking the Ice
1. What’s the most “mundane” task in your week right now—something you wish you could skip?
Naming the Elephant
2. Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes that his work felt meaningless, “a chasing after the wind.” When have you felt like that in your own work or life?
3. Why do you think many of us feel guilty admitting that life or work feels meaningless at times?
Finding Purpose in the Mundane
4. In John 9, the blind man’s suffering wasn’t meaningless—it was so “the works of God might be displayed in him.” How does this truth challenge the way you see your own struggles?
5. Jesus gave the blind man sight, but even more, He gave him purpose. When in your life have you realized God was using you for more than you expected?
Shifting Perspective
6. Pastor Sean shared that the miracle wasn’t just for the blind man—it was so others could see God’s glory. What might it look like if you saw your everyday tasks as opportunities for others to see God?
7. Think about your current role (job, parenting, serving, school). How could reframing it as kingdom work change the way you approach it this week?
God’s Greater Work
8. John 9:4 says, “As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me.” What do you think it means to join God’s work in your everyday life?
9. When has God turned something ordinary—or even painful—in your life into extraordinary worship?
Living Sent
10. If you believed fully that God has placed you exactly where you are for His glory, how would that change the way you see your work/school/home?
11. What practical step can you take this week to let your light shine before others in the middle of your normal routine?
Soul to Soul
12. Where in your life right now do you most need to remember: “I wasn’t healed for sight, I was healed for sending”—that God’s purpose for you is bigger than your comfort?
