1. Seek the Lord.
“…many professing Christians pursue peace by chasing new methods and modern strategies, yet what they need the most is for someone to say to them. ‘Ladies and gentlemen, this is the gospel.’ The fundamentals…We can try to find peace and comfort in doing Christian things, reading Christian truths, and meeting with Christian people, but until we are right in regard to the gospel and our standing before God, we will be wrong everywhere else.” (Consider the Lilies, Ardavanis, 79)
2. Get to know God's thoughts.
“We too often hear and read Scripture but rarely chew and digest the truths found within.” (Consider the Lilies, Ardavanis, 68)
3. God's Word will accomplish its mission.
4. Go out in joy.
5. Be led forth in peace.
“People prepare great things for those whom they love….Not everyone is a party planner, but everyone who loves someone else dearly understands that preparing great things for the people you love is not a chore, it is a delight. If we understand this on a human level (tainted by sin), how much more will our loving, kind, and compassionate Savior prepare wonderful things for those whom He has bought with His own blood? Christian, do you doubt that Jesus is preparing a place for you? …Are you worried about something in the near or distant future? Jesus says that your eternal future is with Him in glory.” (Consider the Lilies, Ardavanis, 206)
