AWANA, August 20
Our Awana season will be starting back up on August 20th at 6:15pm. If you have kids that would like to attend this year, please register on our website under the children’s ministry tab. Feel free to reach out to Laura Bonner if you have any questions or are interested in volunteering.
Ministry Rally, August 24
Our third quarter ministry rally will be on Sunday, August 24. After the worship service, we will have a potluck meal in the fellowship hall with the ministry rally presentation taking place after everyone gets their food. Please bring an entrée and side or dessert.
Hike Old Rag, Sept. 1
Join us on September 1 for a Labor Day Goshen family hike of Old Rag! All who are able are invited! Featuring hikes with adventurous rock scrambles and 360-degree views that make you feel like you're on top of the world, it's no wonder why Old Rag is the most popular destination in Shenandoah National Park. Please be aware that this is a very strenuous 9.4-mile circuit hike that the National Parks Service says takes 7.5 hours. The adventure along the way and the views at the top are worth it, but this hike is designed for those in good physical condition. It is not recommended for young children. We will leave Goshen at 7 am to arrive at Old Rag before it gets too crowded. You can sign up using the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the main hallway or by emailing Pastor Adam. A $2 day-use ticket will be needed, so please sign up ASAP to guarantee your ticket. More information for preparation will be provided to those planning to go on this hike.
SBCV Missions Offering in September
We will be collecting our Vision Virginia State Missions Offering during the month of September. This offering supports important ministries of our state convention like church planting, disaster relief, seminary scholarships, church strengthening ministries, and many other important projects. Begin considering how you can give generously and sacrificially to this offering. More information about this offering is available at www.sbcv.org/2025-vision-virginia-week-of-prayer- offering-for-state-missions.
Redefine Student Conference, Sept. 6, 2025, 9:45-3:00 pm
Embracing your God-given identity in a world that seeks to destroy it.
Why redefine?
Who am I?
Why am I here?
What is my purpose?
If you’ve ever asked these questions, you’re not alone. We’re all searching for meaning in a world full of noise, where everyone has an opinion, and social media tells us to chase whatever feels good.
But how do you know what’s true?
Redefine Student Conference is all about cutting through the noise and rediscovering the truth about who God made you to be.
To redefine something means to give it new meaning. At Redefine, we’ll challenge the world’s false definitions and replace them with what God says is true:
You were created with infinite worth.
Your identity isn’t something you earn, it’s something you’ve received.
Your purpose isn’t random, it’s rooted in Christ.
Join us for a day of truth, worship, and real conversations, and learn to embrace who you were always meant to be.

Homecoming, Oct. 5
Mark your calendar for Goshen’s Homecoming 2025 on Sunday, October 5! We will be highlighting our growing disaster relief ministry. Shawn Ames from SBC Virginia will be here to preach God’s Word and help us think about how compassion ministry allows us to minister the gospel in Jesus’ name.
Goshen Guild
With your sword strapped and quiver full, it's time to find your quest! The Goshen Guild meets most third Sundays from 1:30-4:00 pm for collaborative story-telling and fun using the Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) table-top role-playing game (TTRGP). This event is open to all middle and high school students, with the intention of growing leadership, teamwork, and communication skills while providing a safe place to play.
Tables are designed for players to come and go as they are available. Players may bring their own characters (unless otherwise noted), select a premade character, or come between 1:30-2:00 pm to receive help building a character. All characters should use only the Player's Handbook (2014), Xanathar's Guide to Everything, and Tasha's Cauldron of Everything as source material.

Have a favorite song or a song we haven’t done in a while? Please feel free to share it with Travis or any member of the Worship team. Whether it’s a hymn, worship song, or just a special piece that speaks to your heart, we would LOVE to hear it. Let us know and we’ll do our best to include it in an upcoming service!
Prayer Requests
One of the groups we offer in the Goshen app is our Prayer Community. We encourage you to join this group and use this tool for your prayer requests. This is an easy and great way to get requests out immediately without having to go through the church office. If you have any questions about the app or how to join one of the groups, please contact the office.
Children’s Ministry Volunteers Needed
The Children’s Ministry is urgently seeking volunteers to help with both Sunday school and Awana programs. These ministries are vital in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children to grow in their faith, but they cannot thrive without the dedication and service of volunteers. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Melissa Czubowicz at 570-460-8707 or melczub@gmail.com.
Goshen Baptist Church Mobile App
We have a brand-new app for our church that you can now download from the app store on your device by simply searching for Goshen Baptist Church or by using the QR code below. The app will allow you to listen to or watch past sermons, share prayer requests, connect with a group, and access online giving. Make sure to enable push notifications through the app which will allow us to communicate with you this winter concerning any potential weather closings. Please contact the church office with any questions or if you need help downloading the app.
