Spiritual Gifts are manifestations given by the Holy Spirit to empower all believers for service, encouragement, and evangelism
Fruit Of The Spirit are the nine distinguishing virtues described in Galatians 5:22-23, which are produced in a Christian’s life through the presence and supernatural work of the Holy Spirit transforming a believer from the inside out (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control)
Four different New Testament Greek words for love
Eros: romantic or sexual (erotic)
Storge: familial (ie: mother/baby or brother/sister)
Philia: friendship and camaraderie
Agape: God’s pure, unconditional, and sacrificial divine nature on display (1 John 4:8)
• How does your “brand” of love compare to God’s definition?

Bears all things by patiently enduring wrongs and evils, sometimes from a distance, by maintaining a heart of forgiveness which covers the faults of others, by graciously not seeking vengeance
• Believes all things by looking for the good in others rather than suspecting the wrong, seeking out the best in others with a gracious wisdom that does not condone evil, trusting God’s convicting work
Hopes all things by earnestly desiring the best in people as well as in life's circumstances, not as blind or wishful thinking, but by trusting the Lord in a situation that others have rendered as hopeless
Endures all things by maintaining an uncomplaining attitude in every affliction and trial, tribulation and temptation, persecution and pain, for the sake of others or the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ
“Liking is a feeling, loving is a choice” - demonstrating any Fruit requires a daily decision to yield to the Holy Spirit (partnership)
“Each plays an important part in enabling us to live out the Christ-like life. Take any one of the three away and it just doesn’t seem to work. Hope inspires us to endure. Faith produces action. Love prompts us to that action. Without hope we will soon give up (Romans 5:3-5). Without faith we will not be able to please God (Hebrews 11:6) and we will be unfruitful. Without love our actions will be dead and useless (James 2:17-20).” Steve McClure
• Some of us have put “all our eggs in one basket” (Gifts > Fruit)
• Paul didn’t say Spiritual Gifts weren’t needed (not mutually exclusive)
• Don’t hold Spiritual Gifts hostage to your loveless life!
