Reflection Questions:

1. Where Has the Gospel Wrecked You?
Paul says he experiences “great sorrow and unceasing anguish” for those who are lost.
• When was the last time you felt that kind of ache for someone’s salvation?
• Has your heart grown numb, and if so, why?

2. Who Are You Weeping For?
Jesus wept over Jerusalem knowing it would reject Him.
• Who in your life is close to religion but far from Jesus?
• Have you allowed God’s heartbreak to become your own?

3. Are You Just Near the Things of God?
Israel had adoption, the law, the covenants—everything spiritual—and still missed Christ.
• Is it possible you’re busy with Christian activity but missing intimacy with Jesus?
• How can you re-center your heart this week?

4. Is Your Theology Paired with Compassion?
Paul ends with worship, not despair.
• Do you find yourself caring more about being theologically right than being lovingly burdened?
• How can your doctrine fuel deeper compassion?

5. What Will You Do About the Ache?
Love doesn’t just feel—it acts.
• Who is God calling you to reach out to this week?
• Will you fast, pray, or weep for someone who’s spiritually far off?
