Your words have power.

(Proverbs 18:21 NIV) The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
• We become what the most important people in our lives say we will become.

(Ephesians 4:29 NIV) Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
We need to hear blessings... and it benefits us!

2. Seeing FUN as equal to JOY
(Matthew 3:16-17 NIV) As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

(Matthew 17:5 NIV) While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!"
1. Words of acceptance. - My Son -- We all need to belong.

(Romans 4:17 NIV) (Abraham) .."I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed--the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.

(Mark 10:13-16 NIV) People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.
2. Words of Affection. -- Who I love -- We all need the confirmation of touch.

(Psalm 64:3 NIV) They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim cruel words like deadly arrows.

(Proverbs 15:4 NIV) The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

(Proverbs 15:1 NIV) A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
3. Words of Affirmation. -- Well Pleased -- We all need our success acknowledged.

(Proverbs 25:11 MSG) The right word at the right time is like a custom-made piece of jewelry,...

(Psalm 127:3 NLT) Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him.
(Luke 2:28, 32, 34 NLT) Simeon was there. He took the child in his arms and praised God, saying, .... He is a light to reveal God to the nations, and he is the glory of your people Israel!" ... Then Simeon blessed them, and he said to Mary, the baby's mother, "This child is destined to cause many in Israel to fall, but he will be a joy to many others. He has been sent as a sign from God, but many will oppose him.
(James 1:19 NLT) Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.

You do not have to have an opinion on everything.
• Find a father.

(Psalm 68:5-6 MSG) Father of orphans, champion of widows, is God in his holy house. God makes homes for the homeless ... (PUTS IN FAMILIES)
• Be a father\friend.

(Galatians 6:7 NLT) ... You will always harvest what you plant.
• Relate to God as a Father

(James 1:18 NLT) (GOD) ... chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
