What Will You Say to God?
Luke 18:18-30

In order to have eternal life, you must do five things:

I. Know who Jesus is (Luke 18:18-19).
II. Know who you are and what you cannot do (Luke 18:20-23).
III. Lay aside your idols (Luke 18:24-25).
IV. Know that God can do the impossible (Luke 18:26-27).
V. Follow Christ (Luke 18:28-30).

Goshen Summer Book Club, June 22 @ 5 pm

From Eden to Egypt by Alex Duke is a biblical theology of the book of Genesis. The back cover says that it is filled with humor and observation and application along the way. It's a book for normal people. It's a one-of-a-
kind tour that will help you on your worthwhile journey to understand your Bible and, more important, the God who inspired it.

At this meeting we will discuss:
Introduction & Chapters 1-9 of From Eden to Egypt

Goshen Guild, June 22, 2-4 pm

Goshen Student Ministry will be hosting The Goshen Guild, a mission to reach the students of our community through popular table-top role play games. For more information on how to register students or getting involved in serving in this ministry, see the Student Ministry page on our website.

Standing Rock Mission Trip, July 25 - Aug 1

Standing Rock Mission team is gearing up for their annual trip to the reservation. Donna Overstreet, Lona Butcher, Kimberly Kelly, and Linda Shrum are traveling from Goshen, along with eight other ladies. They will have an all-day VBS program (for adults and children) in the Bullhead village. They will be there from July 25 - Aug. 2. They are asking for donations for food and VBS supplies. One can donate by putting cash, a check (made out to Goshen), or Walmart gift cards in an envelope marked for Standing Rock and then putting it in the offering plate. The last collection date is July 13.

Friday Food Bags

Thank you, Goshen Family, for your continued prayers and generous support of the Friday Food Bag program. Since September 2019, each Thursday during the school year, we deliver a bag of easy-to-prepare food, snacks, and fresh fruit items to Spotsylvania Elementary School to be sent home with students on Fridays. Each week, the school is so grateful for this program and always expresses how appreciative they are and how excited the students are to receive their bags. During the 2024-2025 school year, we ended the year providing bags for 57 students. We delivered a total of 2,137 bags totaling 5,958 pounds of food!

Homecoming, Oct. 5

Mark your calendar for Goshen’s Homecoming 2025 on Sunday, October 5! We will be highlighting our growing disaster relief ministry. Shawn Ames from SBC Virginia will be here to preach God’s Word and help us think about how compassion ministry allows us to minister the gospel in Jesus’ name.

Parenting Conference, February 20-21, 2026

Mark your calendar for February 20-21, 2026. We will be hosting Tate and Wendy Cockrell for a parenting conference. More details will be forthcoming. You won’t want to miss it!

Jukebox corner

Have a favorite song or a song we haven’t done in a while? Please feel free to share it with Travis or any member of the Worship team. Whether it’s a hymn, worship song, or just a special piece that speaks to your heart, we would LOVE to hear it. Let us know and we’ll do our best to include it in an upcoming service!

Prayer Requests

One of the groups we offer in the Goshen app is our Prayer Community. We encourage you to join this group and use this tool for your prayer requests. This is an easy and great way to get requests out immediately without having to go through the church office. If you have any questions about the app or how to join one of the groups, please contact the office.

Children’s Ministry Volunteers Needed

The Children’s Ministry is urgently seeking volunteers to help with both Sunday school and Awana programs. These ministries are vital in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children to grow in their faith, but they cannot thrive without the dedication and service of volunteers. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Melissa Czubowicz at 570-460-8707 or melczub@gmail.com.

Goshen Baptist Church Mobile App

We have a brand-new app for our church that you can now download from the app store on your device by simply searching for Goshen Baptist Church or by using the QR code below. The app will allow you to listen to or watch past sermons, share prayer requests, connect with a group, and access online giving. Make sure to enable push notifications through the app which will allow us to communicate with you this winter concerning any potential weather closings. Please contact the church office with any questions or if you need help downloading the app.
