I. Providing Shelter
When seeking shelter….
A. Do not be tempted to reside in a foreign territory in order to avoid conflict - 22:5
B. Remember the ones who provide help are also paying a high price to be involved - 22:10
C. Know that the true people of God will not follow orders
that defy the Word of God - 22:17
D. Be aware of a false sense of security

II. Perverted Ways
When a Person is bitter….
A. Bitterness drives them….there is no rest 22:6
B. Their disloyalty results in unresolved conflict 22:9
C. They will follow a ruthless leader for selfish reasons 22:18
D. Their thinking is clouded and irrational 23:7
E. Their bitterness will contaminate all areas of life as well as the lives of others 23:10

III. Promised Deliverance
A. Face and forsake fear when threatened by the enemy
B. Face and confess any sin against the bitter person
C. Ask the Lord and others to help you see personal blind spots
D. Forgive attacks and accusations as the Lord has forgiven you - Eph. 4:32
E. Receive healing from the Lord
F. Pour out your pain to the Lord so that you can turn in peace to your enemy
