SERMON NOTES
My Merciful & Gracious God with Bruce Martin
Ex. 34:6-7; Psalm 103; Luke 18:9-14
Mercy is at the very core of God’s nature.
Mercy is not something God has, but something God is.
BIG IDEA
“Because Christ received justice at the cross, we receive mercy.” (Jen Wilkin)
1.God wants us to know He is merciful and compassionate.
2. As sinners we are desperately in need of mercy and grace.
3. We should daily thank God for His Common Grace.
4. We must live a life of worship because of God’s Saving Grace.
5. Never forget that God’s mercy has an end.
6. We should pray every day until Jesus returns: “Lord, have mercy.”

MONTHLY HIGHLIGHT: IGLESIA CALVARIO
The start of this year, 2025, has been marked by numerous activities in which we have seen God's guidance and blessing. We would like to mention a few:
We had what we call the Week of Prayer and Fasting in January. It was a week where we encouraged our entire church to pray and fast, and to gather during the evenings to pray and worship together. We had a general theme that inspired that week, which was “the God who renews us”.
We had a couples' retreat at Spring Valley Bible Camp on a Saturday in February. 22 couples participated, and the atmosphere was extraordinary. It was a time for sharing, laughing together, being inspired, and also being challenged to continue growing as marriages and families.
Our women were a part of the Delight Women's Conference at Calvary Church, where we had materials in Spanish as well as simultaneous translation, with 30 women attending. A group of 20 men also attended the Hispanic Men's Conference in Chicago, joining 1000 other men in just the third year of the conference. We had new people join us for both events and enjoyed fruitful times of fellowship together.
