Men’s Retreat: Friday - Sunday, May 16-18 at Lake Jocassee! For men age 18 and up. Cost will be $50 each. See Steven Pearce for more details.
Church-wide Prayer Meeting: Sunday, May 18th at 6:30 p.m. A time of prayer together as a church family - with a special emphasis on sending our mission team to the Philippines.
The Lord’s Supper: We welcome you to this time of worship and obedience around the Lord’s Table. It is our practice in this church that any and every believer is welcome to participate in this communion, not only members of WEBC. If you are not a believer, or are not sure, this is not for you. I encourage you to take this time to simply reflect on Jesus and what you have heard today, and ask God to speak to you.

1. They did not know the providence of God.
2. They did not know the purpose of the Cross.
3. They did not know the power of the Resurrection.
For further reflection…
It is only in the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus that we have hope in this life and the next. I invite you to join me in taking time this week to reflect on the following truths. Rather than a quick glance, will you set aside time to think on them deeply, to talk to your Heavenly Father about them? Consider not only the truths herein, but also the implications of these truths for your life and those God is entrusting to you.
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Peter 2:24-25 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 25 For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
Acts 2:32-33 This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. 33 Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. (from Peter’s sermon at Pentecost)
1 Corinthians 15:16-19 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.
Hebrews 13:20-21 Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, 21 equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Giving Online
Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of our worship. (2 Corinthians 9:7; Proverbs 3:9; Malachi 3:10)
We thank those who have helped us fulfill our mission and vision, and we ask you to pray that all of the giving to West End Baptist Church would be used to glorify God in carrying out His will as Scripture instructs and the Holy Spirit leads.
