Lord, we confess our reluctance to release the power and prestige of this world, denying your place as our Savior and King.

All: Lord, have mercy. Forgive me of my rebellion and help me surrender to you.
Christ, we confess using your presence simply for our comfort, entertainment and enjoyment, denying your transformation.

All: Christ have mercy. Provide only what you consider good and satisfy me with your provision.
Lord, we confess appeasing others to avoid conflict or opposition, denying the challenge of your call.

All: Lord, have mercy. Strengthen us to obey and give us freedom in our submission to you.
