Ephesians:13 Prayers for the Battlefield
The "Ephesians" series examines the potentially life-changing New Testament letter that we call Ephesians. We are wrapping up our study of Paul's letter to the Church in Ephesus. Paul spent more time in Ephesus (nearly three years) than any other location. Needless to say, Ephesus and that region of the world has played a significant role in the history of the people of God. The letter to the Ephesians is my favorite book in the Bible. It is also one of the most "supernatural" books in the Bible. If you get nothing else out of the letter to the Ephesians, it should be clear that we live on the battlefield in a war waged by the rebellious forces of evil against God and the host of heaven. And because of that reality, Paul says, "You need to pray... all the time!"

Our Father in heaven, holy is Your name. It is set apart – holy. There is no other name like Yours. I pray that Your Kingdom would be revealed in my life, my family, my community, and that Your Kingdom would advance and expand.
I pray for Your will to be done in my life, and take preeminence over anything that is my will. Conform and shape my will to reflect Yours. May Your will be done on earth as perfectly as it is done in heaven.
Give me everything that I need today to accomplish Your mission. And help me to forgive people when they wound, and offend me, in the same way that You always stand ready to forgive me when I have wounded You.
Guide my steps and guard my heart from things that tempt me to seek my will over Your mission. And protect me from the attacks of the evil one.
