Live As Faithful Stewards, Giving Generously

Live As Faithful Stewards, Giving Generously

Liberty Church seeks to make fully devoted followers of Jesus. We desire that God produce followers with complete allegiance to Christ. We believe God can and will do that by cultivating healthy church cultures. In the next six weeks, we will explore six cultures we must cultivate to complete our mission.

Main Idea: We must cultivate a culture of devoted investing in the Lord’s work so God can increase our capacities of giving and harvesting.
Here are three truths about generosity.
1. God calls us to a devoted investment in the Lord’s work.
Quote: “Generosity is a part of the core DNA of a mature disciple.” —Eric Mason, Exalting Jesus in 2 Corinthians

2. God blesses us for our devoted investment in the Lord’s work.
Quote: “We must not be “sad givers” who give grudgingly, or “mad givers” who give because we have to (“of necessity”); but we should be “glad givers” who cheerfully share what we have because we have experienced the grace of God.” —Warren W. Wiersbe, The Bible Exposition Commentary

Giving and Generosity

Generosity is giving what "you have purposed in your heart to give" back to God through Liberty Church. Giving is a principle taught throughout the Bible. When we give and are generous, we tangibly express worship by putting God first in our lives.
Bringing our offerings and gifts is an opportunity for us to give God our thanks, show God we trust Him, and fight against greed in our hearts...all while allowing us to be a part of the most important work in life, which is spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ!
If you want to read more about what the Bible says about giving, check out these passages: Leviticus 27:30, Proverbs 3:9-10, Malachi 3:6-10, Matthew 6:19-24, 1 Corinthians 16:1-2.
