Sermon Text: Acts 17:1-34
Preparation Question: What does the phrase "missional living" mean and does it describe how you live?
Two statements, each with a question, which encourage us to shine for Jesus both when life is suspenseful and when it is mundane:
1. Paul was continually guilty of sharing the truth about Jesus. Are we boldly and consistently displaying the truth of Jesus?
1. Paul was continually guilty of sharing the truth about Jesus. Are we boldly and consistently displaying the truth of Jesus?
2. Paul lived a missional lifestyle using everyday circumstances to point others to Jesus. Are we utilizing our daily circumstances for Christ's Kingdom?
Response Questions
1. As seen in Acts 17:1-3, what was Paul's normal strategy for starting his ministry in a city? Why do you think he did this?
2. How did Paul and his associates know when to stay and face legal actions against them and when to hide/flee?
3. What did Paul do with his time of "waiting" in Athens, and how did he use his circumstances/surroundings to share the gospel?
4. What does it mean in v. 16 when it says Paul's "spirit was provoked within him"? Is there anything we can do to make ourselves more attentive and reactive to the Holy Spirit's leading?
5. What are some ways you can use your daily routine this week to point others to Jesus?
