ABC’s of PRAYER:

A - Always for All Things
Giving thanks - ĕucharistĕō - To be grateful; gratitude or appreciation

Always - pantŏtĕ - Always at all times for every occasion
Always For All Things:

- Always answers two questions about prayer:
1) When do we pray? - Priority
2) When do we stop? - Persistence

- For All Things answers two questions about prayer:
1) What do we pray about?
2) What do we not pray about?
ABC’s of PRAYER:

A - Always for All Things
B - BELIEVE
Have - ĕchō - To possess, hold on to, own or belong to

Faith - pistis - noun form of pistĕuō -To be persuaded, convinced or certain of something so that your actions correspond with what you believe


Have faith “In God” - thĕŏs - Supreme, supernatural being as Creator, Jehovah;

- Genitive case - The genitive is the case that qualifies or distinguishes a noun by means of a specific characterization (attribute). The genitive normally marks a noun as the source or possessor of something

Translation - “Possess, hold on to, being persuaded or convinced of something so that your actions correspond with what you believe Supreme Creator Jehovah.”

3 Key Elements of Biblical Faith:

1) Firm conviction or persuasion of God’s truth (What God says is Truth)
Truth - alēthĕia - That which is in accord with what really happens, facts that correspond to a reality whether historical (in the time/space continuum), or an eternal reality not limited to historical fact

Surrender - To give (oneself) up or over into the power of another; yield to

Heart - kardia - (Cardiologist) physically - As the seat and center of the circulation of the blood, and therefore the center of life
Doubting - diakrinō - To separate, to be parted or go in contrary ways; withdraw from or oppose, to hesitate; pause or hold back in uncertainty or unwillingness
