DISCOVER & DEVELOP YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS
SCRIPTURE
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:1-4
OBSERVATIONS
1/ Spiritual gifts are given to every Christian believer.
A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. 1 Corinthians 12:7
2/ Spiritual gifts are imparted.
At salvation, the Holy Spirit imparts some gift(s).
It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. 1 Corinthians 12:11
At later dates, the Holy Spirit or another Christian may impart some gift(s).
I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong.
Romans 1:11
3/ Spiritual gifts are not related to status.
(The Holy Spirit) alone decides which gift each person should have. 1 Corinthians 12:11
4/ Spiritual gifts should be desired.
But earnestly desire the higher gifts. 1 Corinthians 12:31
5/ Spiritual gifts are given to further the Kingdom.
THE THREE CAMPS
Cessationists:Those who believe supernatural gifts died with the Apostles.
Continuationists:Those who believe supernatural gifts continue today.
Cautionists: Those who believe supernatural gifts continue today but seek discernment.
TWO TYPES OF GIFTS
1/ God has given natural gifts.
In Scripture, these are often referred to as “talents.” Though these aren’t spiritual gifts, they can be anointed and used for Kingdom purposes.
2/ God has given spiritual gifts.

Do not neglect your gift. 1 Timothy 4:14
3/ Actively use your spiritual gift(s).
Having gifts…let us use them. Romans 12:6
4/ Acknowledge and appreciate your spiritual gift(s).
5/ Advance your spiritual gift(s).
I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God. 2 Timothy 1:6
6/ Allow love to lead your spiritual gift(s).
7/ Ask for an increased anointing on your spiritual gift(s).
