TALK IT OVER
Opening Ice Breakers
- What’s a personal "giant" (challenge or obstacle) you’ve
had to face in your life?
- When you think about giants, who or what comes to mind? (Are they literal or more figurative?)
- What’s one recent situation where you felt like you were
fighting a "giant"? How did you handle it?
Giant-Related Questions:
1. Faith-Doubting Giants
- What are some questions or doubts about your faith that
you've struggled with in the past?
- How does Psalm 22, where David questions God during
his suffering, resonate with your own times of doubt?
2. Spiritual Attack Giants
-What are some common things that seem to spiritually
drain or attack you? How do you recognize them as spiritual attacks?
-What’s one thing in your life that you feel is separating you from experiencing the peace and joy God wants for you?
3. Ungenerosity Giants
- Why do you think generosity is such a powerful weapon against selfishness? How does focusing on others change your perspective?
- David showed generosity to Mephibosheth, despite him
being the son of his enemy. How can we practice generosity even when it’s hard?
4. "Lone Wolf" Christianity Giants
- What are the dangers of trying to live out your faith alone, without community or support?
- Who in your life helps you stay accountable and grow spiritually? How have they encouraged you?
5. "Wrong King on the Throne" Giants
- What are some of the ways we can unknowingly make ourselves king in our lives instead of letting God sit on the throne?
- David's sin with Bathsheba came when he forgot who the true King was. In what areas of life do you struggle to let God be the King?
- Luke 9:23 talks about denying ourselves daily. What does that look like in your daily life? What “giants” do you need to face by denying yourself?
Practical Application
- What is one “stone” (a resource, action, or mindset) you’re going to pick up this week to face a current giant in your life?
