SMALL GROUP GUIDE
Icebreaker Question
If you could hear the voice of anyone (past or present) for guidance on one decision, who would it be and why?

Four Discussion Questions
Connecting to the Message
Jesus says, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). How would you describe what it means to "listen to His voice" in your life? Have you ever experienced a moment when you felt God was speaking to you? Share your story.
Scriptures and the Spirit
We discussed that the Holy Spirit speaks through Scripture. Have you ever had a Bible verse or passage "come alive" in a situation? What was it, and how did it guide you?
Recognizing the Holy Spirit's Promptings
The message outlined four ways the Holy Spirit speaks: drawing you to Scripture, leading you to prayer, moving you to love like Jesus, and stirring you to repent. Which of these resonates most with your experiences? Why do you think that is?
Barriers and the Flow of the Spirit
We talked about how small barriers, like the dishwasher story, can block the flow of the Spirit in our lives. What barriers do you think commonly block people from hearing the Spirit clearly? What might God be asking you to remove?
Application: Creating Space for the Spirit
Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” How can you create more stillness in your life this week to hear from the Holy Spirit? What practical steps can you take to tune out competing voices and listen to His promptings?

E.S.P.N. for the Group Leader to Remember:
Encouragement
Leadership is 51% encouragement. Don’t underestimate the power of a kind word or a thoughtful affirmation. Look for opportunities to call out the good in each person and remind them of God’s work in their life. Encouragement builds trust and fosters connection in your group.
Scripture
Make space to read Scripture out loud together. God’s Word is living and active, and hearing it read aloud can open hearts and minds to His truth in a powerful way. Even a short passage can spark meaningful conversation and reflection.
Prayer
Create intentional moments for your group to pray together. Whether it’s a simple prayer for the week or interceding for specific needs, prayer connects us to Jesus—and Jesus transforms lives.
Next Step
Always point your group toward one clear, actionable next step before you end. It could be as simple as spending five minutes in stillness this week, reading a specific Scripture, or reaching out to someone in love. A clear next step helps people take what they’ve learned and put it into practice.
