(Proverbs 3:9-10 NIV) Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the first fruitsof all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
Giving is a decision.
(2 Corinthians 9:7 NLT) You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. "For God loves a person who gives cheerfully."

• The Tithe is a test.
(Deuteronomy 8:2 NLT) (God)... humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands.
Tithe is not based on a demand.
Tithe is an obedient response to God's Word.

(Luke 12:48 NLT) ... When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.
• It all belongs to God.
(Psalm 24:1 NLT) The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.
(Psalm 50:9-12 NLT) But I do not need the bulls from your barns or the goats from your pens. For all the animals of the forest are mine, and I own the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird on the mountains, and all the animals of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for all the world is mine and everything in it.

(Mark 12:41-44 MSG) 'Sitting across from the offering box, he was observing how the crowd tossed money in for the collection. Many of the rich were making large contributions. One poor widow came up and put in two small coins—a measly two cents. Jesus called his disciples over and said, “The truth is that this poor widow gave more to the collection than all the others put together. All the others gave what they’ll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn’t afford—she gave her all.”
(Genesis 4:3-5 NLT) When it was time for the harvest, Cain presented some of his crops as a gift to the LORD. Abel also brought a gift--the best of the firstborn lambs from his flock. The LORD accepted Abel and his gift, but he did not accept Cain and his gift. . . .
(1 John 4:9 NLT) God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.

(Exodus 13:11-16 MSG) “... you are to set aside the first birth out of every womb to God . Every first birth from your livestock belongs to God . You can redeem every first birth of a donkey if you want to by substituting a lamb; ... “Redeem every firstborn child among your sons. When the time comes and your son asks you, ‘What does this mean?’ you tell him, ‘ God brought us out of Egypt, out of a house of slavery, with a powerful hand. . . .
