• The fear of the Lord gives you the ability to be obedient even when you DONT FEEL LIKE IT
• Do you ONLY obey when you FEEL like it? Only when you sense His presence?
• It’s easy to obey God after an awesome CONFERENCE, or an amazing time with one of your Christian brothers/sisters
• You leave those moments feeling refreshed and invigorated
• But what about when all hell breaks loose at home, or work?
• When you TRULY FEAR the Lord, you believe and commit to these 4 things deeply:

• It was a BIG deal to bury your father back in this time because there was serious wealth on the line
• They both said YES to God…but on THEIR terms

• We should become more childlike as we follow Jesus, but not childish.

• Jesus used his saliva to heal
• Forgiving those who hurt you?
• Loving those that hate you?

• If everything God did made sense immediately, there would be a lot more followers of Jesus. God said this would be hard in fact He said, “Blessed are those who are not offended by Me.”
• It SEEMS like, in the American church you really need to lay out the benefits of following Jesus before people commit
• Counting the cost

• Jesus said one of the qualifiers for following Him was to DIE TO SELF. Forsake this LIFE!
• Anything you love more than Jesus will eventually get in the way of you and Him.
• SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM
• ULTIMATELY - If you avoid discomfort while following Jesus, you will live a shallow and lukewarm Christian life
• Jesus died for more than an hour and $20 a week
• Jesus as our example

• I IGNORED the touch of Holy Spirit because I did not want to get in front of people. BECAUSE OF DISCOMFORT

• MANY Christians have rebuked the discipline of the Lord believing it to be Satan when it was the correction of the Lord coming to you as a father to a son or daughter
• Discipline is only necessary for correction and disobedience
• Instead of assuming it is Satan, ask the Lord if it’s Him correcting you
• 1 Samuel 15 (Saul told to destroy the Amalekites and everything they have but ends up taking all the spoils)
• Tabernacle being built
• Obeying 99% is not obeying at all!
• You could be doing SO MUCH GOOD but not being obedient at the same time
• SEARED CONSCIENCE
• Our conscience is a gift from God
• Connected to the heart

• Christians try to remove all emotions from our walk with God
• Saying our emotions/feelings lead us astray
• Discernment
