What does it look like to be a neighbor?

1. A neighbor does not avoid the hurting and the needy.

2. A neighbor gives compassion-filled mercy to everyone.

Note the extent to which the Samaritan helped the Jew: He gave him immediate emergency help; he took him to an inn where he could be cared for while he convalesced; he paid the bill in advance; and he offered further assistance if it should prove to be necessary. He neglected no kind of service which was in his power to perform. (Beacon Bible Commentary, page 504)
