Sermon Text: Acts 13:1-52
Preparation Question: How can we tell the difference between when we're allowing God to lead our lives and when we're trying to take control?
Three questions to ask ourselves in the pursuit of staying on Jesus' path for our lives:
1. Will your direction in life be determined off the cuff or on your knees? (v. 1-3)
1. Will your direction in life be determined off the cuff or on your knees? (v. 1-3)
2. Will you travel by light or darkness? (v. 4-12)
3. Are you appointed and trusting Jesus in the present or will you be astonished as you perish throughout eternity? (v. 13-52)
Response Questions
1. How have you experienced the Holy Spirit's leading recently?
2. Why does Luke emphasize that the prophets and teachers mentioned in Acts 13:1 were worshiping and fasting/praying?
3. What is the irony of Bar-Jesus'/Elymas' two names, and what can we learn from how he was named verses how he lived?
4. Has there been a time when the Holy Spirit clearly asked you to do something and you didn't do it? Is it too late to respond now?
5. How will you pursue the leading and lordship of Christ in your life this week?
