God’s words are eternal, truthful, and absolute.

We are made in his image.
Hold your tongue.

Proverbs 10:19 – "When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent."

Proverbs 26:20 – "For lack of wood the fire goes out, and where there is no whisperer, quarreling ceases."

Proverbs 11:12 – "Whoever belittles his neighbor lacks sense, but a man of understanding remains silent."

Proverbs 17:27-28 – "Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding. Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent."

Speak Truth graciously.

Proverbs 26:28 – "A lying tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth works ruin."

Proverbs 15:1 – "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

Proverbs 15:4 – "A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit."

Proverbs 16:24 – "Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body."
Use words to build others up -

Proverbs 17:6 - “Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy."

Proverbs 25:11 – "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver."

Ephesians 4:15: "Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ."

Psalm 141:5: "Let a righteous man strike me—it is a kindness; let him rebuke me—it is oil for my head; let my head not refuse it."

Proverbs 27:2 – "Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips."
"The tongue, small though it is, wields great influence. By it, we can bring a soul nearer to Christ or push it further into despair. Oh, let us pray that our tongues be sanctified and seasoned with grace!"

– C.H. Spurgeon
