Home Group/Study Questions
These questions are provided for your further study and application of today’s sermon. Thoughtfully writing out the answers to these questions will help to drive home the truths we are learning.

1. Was there any passage of scripture or statement in the message today that was particularly meaningful or applicable to you?

2. Read Matthew 4:18-22; Luke 5:27-28 & 18:22-24. Like Paul, these men were called to leave behind their careers when they were called to Christ. Why would you say that this remains a realistic consideration when people become Christians today?

3. Read Mark 5:15-20 and 1 Corinthians 7:20-24. Of course, for many who have become Christians, God has already providentially placed them in a job, industry, or career where he will best utilize them for his good and glory. How would you advise someone to wisely discern if this is or is not the case?

4. Read Matthew 6:17-18 and 1 Corinthians 9:25-27. In what situations have you found that fasting, or purposefully refraining from other rights has helped you grow spiritually or in your ministry to others?

5. What do you need to “lay aside” (sacrifice) in order to gain being “filled with the knowledge of his [God’s] will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God”?

Giving Online

Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of our worship. (2 Corinthians 9:7; Proverbs 3:9; Malachi 3:10) We thank those who have helped us fulfill our mission and vision, and we ask you to pray that all of the giving to West End Baptist Church would be used to glorify God in carrying out His will as Scripture instructs and the Holy Spirit leads.
