How do we respond when the King shows up?
1. The response of King Herod: Rejection!
We struggle with our egos - our pride - our agendas - our little plans for our lives - our visions of the future - our ordered and controlled worlds.
How many of us are bowing down, sacrificing and pledging our allegiance to something in our lives that has us completely mastered…and it’s not from King Jesus?

The crazy thing is that Herod was desperately trying to hold on to a kingdom that wasn't his to keep anyway.

Come, thou long expected Jesus
Born to set thy people free.
From our fears and sins release us.
Let us find our rest in thee.
Hope of all the earth thou art.
Dear desire of every nation.
Joy of every longing heart.
