For Unto Us - Week 3
“Tree of Life”
December 22, 2024
Matt Mizell

God’s _______________________________ is predictable.
(Isaiah 9:6, Malachi 3:10)

Note from Pastor Matt: “A family at Hills Church has generously donated $100,000 to help pay down our remaining debt. The faster we pay down our debt, the faster we will make an even greater an impact together. Follow the lead of the generous family and make your own end-of-year donation at hillschurchnm.com/give. Thank you for your generosity!”

Kerub = to guard, ________________ or protect
(Romans 6:23, Genesis 3:24)

You will be _____________________ when Jesus cleans up your ________________. (Exodus 25:10, 17-20, Genesis 3:24, Revelation 21:2-4, Isaiah 25:8, Revelation 22:1-2, 2 Chronicles 7:14, John 14:6, Revelation 22:12-14, John 3:16)

Go Deeper:
1. Have you experienced God’s predictable blessings in your own life? If yes, why? If no, why do you think you haven’t experienced them yet?
2. What are the roles of cherubim, and why did God use them at the entrance to the garden?
3. Read God’s prophetic statement in Ezekiel 28:12-19. Most theologians believe God is addressing Satan in this section of Scripture. If this is the case, pay attention to where God addresses Satan as a “guardian cherub” who fell into wickedness. How does that affect the way you look at Satan’s role in the Garden of Eden?
4. Despite the cherubim and flaming sword guarding the garden, do you think Adam and Eve ever could have made it back to the Tree of Life? Why or why not?
5. In what ways does Revelation 22 connect back to Genesis 3?
6. Why is it significant that you can have access to the Tree of Life?
7. To go even deeper with this week’s sermon, join a Hills Group to discuss the questions above with other people in our community. To join, start or lead a Hills Group, visit hillschurchnm.com/connect.
