ADVENT OF LOVE • The word “advent” means the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event. During the Christmas season, the arrival we are celebrating is that of Jesus coming into our world!

We would love for you and your family to gather with us during this special season.

CHRISTMAS SHOP SWAP • Come to our annual Christmas Shop Swap for kids on Sunday, December 15th, right after service! This is an opportunity for children to shop for family and friends and have their gifts wrapped.

Enjoy coffee beverages, tea, and hot cocoa in the Solid Ground Café while children browse for family and friends.

If you would like to donate giftable items (articles in excellent condition or still in original packaging) or wrapping supplies, please contact Kathi Beard (kathibeard@icloud.com).

ROAD TO BETHLEHEM • Calvary Chapel Eastside presents our 10th annual live nativity!

Travel the Road to Bethlehem from the comfort of your car! On your journey, you'll meet centurions, shepherds, and angels as you hear the story of Christmas!

We invite you to drive through this one-of-a-kind nativity with live actors and animals.

This event is FREE and runs December 16-20, 7-8:30pm. Invite your family and friends!

ROAD TO BETHLEHEM TEAR-DOWN/CLEANUP ON 12/21 • Please join us at 9am on Saturday, December 21st, for our Road to Bethlehem Tear-Down & Cleanup Party. At 12pm, we will dine together in the CCE Lobby before finishing up for the day.

We will be using Jacy's truck to dismantle, transport. and store wooden panels, but you might want to bring your truck, if you have one available.

We will also be doing basic cleaning. Many hands make light work, so please make every effort to heave-ho with us for the glory of God!

CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT WORSHIP SERVICE • We invite you and your family to celebrate Christmas Eve with us!

Join us at 7pm on Tuesday, December 24th, for a special Christmas Eve Service, with traditional Christmas carols, special music, a Christmas homily, responsive reading, and candle lighting — all in the warm glow of God’s unfailing love.

YEAR END GIVING • We thank you so much for joyfully investing in this community of faith. For your year end tithes and offerings to be recognized as 2024 deductions, please drop them into the offering boxes by Sunday, December 29th, or mail them by December 31st. CCSD: GROWING STRONG MIDWEEK • Our Calvary Chapel School of Discipleship desires to glorify God as we nurture and develop a Spirit-led walk with Christ.

Winter term begins on January 8th. Learn more about Awana Clubs, Senior High and Junior High Classes, Young Adult Grace Group, Women’s Bible Study, Men Discipling Men, and English as a Second Language (ESL).

Most classes meet 7-8:30pm. The Young Adult Grace Group meets twice a month, on Sunday. These ministries are open to everyone! From the youngest to the oldest, there is love and encouragement for all.

AWANA • Calvary Chapel Eastside’s AWANA program is a great way for young people to draw near to Jesus as they hide God’s Word in their hearts.

Knowing how God wants us to live out our faith is vitally important to our spiritual health and the future of our children.

Winter term begins on January 8th.

Join us Wednesday evenings, 7-8:30pm. All children 3 years through 6th grade will grow in their love and knowledge of Jesus through the Bible in this multi-leveled club.

JUNIOR HIGH SUNDAY CLASS • The Junior High group meets every Sunday, at 10am in Room 203. Brian Parks is teaching new materials from the Answers In Genesis Middle School program and sharing in many other interactive games and activities. Don’t miss the fellowship and fun!

YOUNG ADULT GRACE GROUP • Calvary Chapel Eastside is offering a mental health care group for young adults who are college-age, twenties, and thirties. This group is for young men and women seeking support within a Christ-centered context.

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Sunday afternoons, 12:30-2pm, in the Library.

Our next gathering is Sunday, December 15th.

Participants will learn tools for mental and emotional resiliency within a safe and life-giving community. Space is limited.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY • Please join us as we journey together through the book of Proverbs. Bring your Bibles, ladies. We will study in various translations and enjoy verse mapping together.

In addition to our study, we will enjoy a time of fellowship and prayer, as well as a variety of hikes, picnics, and other activities.

We are seeking volunteers to help with ESL Basic & Intermediate classes. Whether you are a seasoned teacher or have no prior experience, Jamie will work alongside you and give you everything you need to help in this important ministry.

ECHO GLEN MINISTRY | JANUARY 12 • Please consider joining Pastor Robert on the 2nd Sunday of the month for a 3pm Chapel Service at the Echo Glen Youth Detention Facility in Snoqualmie. This is an opportunity for you to meet and pray for these incarcerated youth during a brief (~40 minute) service.

HOME FELLOWSHIPS • Home fellowships are a wonderful way to get involved in community, strengthen your relationship with the Lord, and learn together!

We encourage you to think and pray about joining a group this year!

VOLUNTEER HELP NEEDED | CCE A/V TEAM • Are you interested in participating in our ever-expanding audio/video ministry? Please fill out a connect card with your contact information and a note that you would like to participate. We are currently teaching volunteers how to mix sound for both our in-house congregation and those listening online here and abroad. We are also training volunteers in video, lighting, and streaming technologies.

MISSIONS SPOTLIGHT | LEIPZIG, GERMANY • This month's featured missionary is The Ibbotson Family. Since 1998, Kurt, Tiffany, Simon, Andrew, Lillia, and James have been a full time missionary family at Calvary Chapel Leipzig, where Kurt serves as Senior Pastor. In addition to his Pastoral responsibilities, Kurt teaches at the school of discipleship, serves as an elder, and provides counseling, visitation, outreach, Bible study, and prayer. Outside of church activities, Kurt spends one day a week helping at a refugee camp, and he is very involved with his children. Tiffany’s main ministry is being a wife and mother. She leads the Women’s Ministry, serves in the children’s ministry, and reaches out to needy and broken communities! See below to learn more about the Ibbotsons and their work in Germany!
