Israel's desire for a king was a real desire for humanity.
Be careful what you pray for, the Lord may give it to you.
Our desire is for a righteous King.

Why is it important that Jesus came from David's throne instead of Saul's?
1. The fulfillment of biblical prophecy
2. The establishment of His messianic identity
3. The affirmation of God's covenantal promises
4. The confirmation that David was a King with the right character
King David's throne is natural and spiritual.
King David's life provides a foreshadow of who Jesus is, pointing to the ultimate King.
To understand the type of King that Jesus is, we must understand the type of King that David was.
1. A Shepherd
2. Courage and Boldness
3. A Deliverer
4. Humility
5. Suffering and Rejection
6. Intercessor
7. Builder of God's Kingdom
David's lineage wasn't perfect.
David's true throne was his heart.
Character is the greatest display of Christ as King in our lives.
Knowing the type of King that David was, helps us to understand the type of King Jesus is.
