3 Actions that Made the Wise Men Actually Wise
3 actions that brought them into the presence of Jesus
1. Sought Jesus
2. Recognized the Endless Worth of Jesus & Worshipped Him
We have a value problem!
IT’S A JOY TO GET TO JESUS
3. Read & Believed God’s Word
EVERYONE SEES GOD’S PRESENCE, BUT VERY FEW RECOGNIZE IT!
God isn’t hiding from us. We are hiding from God and he is pursuing us.
Do You See What I See?
TALK IT OVER
Opening Reflection
1. What word or feeling comes to mind when you think of Christmas this year? (e.g., joy, stress, nostalgia, busyness, etc.)
2. How does your current pace of life affect your ability to notice God's presence during this season?
Seeking Jesus
1. The Wise Men traveled over 1,000 miles just to be in Jesus’ presence. What is something you’ve had to “travel far” for, physically or spiritually? How did it shape your faith?
2. Proximity isn’t our problem—Jesus is always near. What practical steps can you take this week to intentionally seek Jesus amidst the busyness of Christmas?
3. What are some things (like distractions, worries, or priorities) you may need to leave behind to truly experience the wonder of God's presence?
Recognizing Jesus’ Worth
1. The Wise Men brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to honor Jesus. What does worshiping Jesus with your time, talents, or treasure look like in your life?
2. Matthew 13:44 says that the Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure worth selling everything for. Do you feel this same joy when you think of Jesus? Why or why not?
3. How might slowing down and focusing on Jesus’ worth change how you celebrate Christmas this year?
Believing God’s Word
1. The Wise Men recognized the star because they were spiritually aware and believed in God’s promises. How can you grow in spiritual awareness this season?
2. How has reading and believing God’s Word helped you notice His presence in the past?
3. What scripture or promise from God’s Word encourages you to trust His presence, even when life feels overwhelming?
Living in God’s Presence
1. How would your life look different if you lived each day fully aware of God’s presence, like the Wise Men?
2. What is one step you can take this week to be intentional about experiencing God’s presence, despite the busyness or distractions around you?
3. End with this: If you could see what God sees, how might your perspective on this season—and your relationship with Him—change?
Prayer Focus
Pray for spiritual eyes to see God’s presence clearly this Christmas.
